Indian investors have played a crucial role in the current Maldives' economic revival, Fisheries Minister Dr. Mohamed Shainee said
Speaking at the Indian lead Raisina Dialogue conference, Dr. Shainee noted that Maldives has a good track record of welcoming foreign investments.
"Maldives has a proud track record of welcoming foreign investments, especially India. Indian investments played a crucial role in the economic development Maldives has seen for the past 30 years," the Minister stated.
The Minister also stated that Maldives has undertaken large projects to develop infrastructure, and also revealed that further projects have been planned for the future.
The Minister is reported to have said that such projects are only possible with foreign investment.
