MATATO partners with Mega Maldives for SATTE Fair

  • 10 companies already on board
  • Special prices for guesthouses
  • 20,000 people attended in 2015

The Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) has joined Mega Maldives to take part in the SATTE 2017 Fair which would be held in India from 15th to 17th next month.

The SATTE Fair is known for being one of the most major travel and tourism events in this country. The agreement between MATATO and Mega Maldives for the fair secures cheaper prices for those participating in the fair. Mega Maldives is the private Maldivian airline which operates flights to Delhi and Mumbai.

MATATO revealed that 10 Maldivian companies have already agreed to take part in the SATTE 2017 Fair. MATATO also said guesthouses would receive cheaper prices, and that all Maldivian participants would receive cheaper airfare to India through Mega Maldives.

SATTE Fair 2016 saw 750 participants from 35 countries, with participation from 25 Indian boards and 30 international tourism boards. There were 20,000 attendees in the fair last year.

India is one of the most potentially lucrative markets for the Maldives. A total of 66,955 tourists visited the Maldives from India last year, a 27.9% increase from the 52,364 which visited in 2015.
