President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom Thursday dispatched environment minister Thoriq Ibrahim to Alif Dhaal as his envoy.
Government said the purpose of the minister's trip is to visit all the islands of the Atoll, to speak with islanders and to observe how institutions were operating on behalf of the President.
The first stop on the Minister's trip was Adh. Hangnaameedhoo.
On his arrival to the island, the Minister observed the latest developmental projects ongoing at the island and shared information about the latest projects with councillors. He also met with members of other government institutions in the island, and spoke with them about the issues faced in operating in the island.
The Minister visited the construction areas of the new garbage dump and the futsal field.
Councillors of Hangnaameedhoo also discussed with the Minister about solving the issues faced by the harbor. The Minister vowed to work to fix the issues faced by the school and health center on the island.
The Minister will also be visiting Adh. Omadhoo and Mahibadhoo on Thursday, and will visit all the remaining islands of Atoll in the following two days.
