Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has reported a 15 percent increase in complaints last year in comparison with 2015.
Statistics released by the ACC show that 832 complaints were lodged in 2015, while the number rose to 958 in 2016. The investigation completion rate also increased, with only 611 cases closed in 2015 while 754 cases were closed in 2016.
The Commission also said it was diverting cases not under its jurisdiction to the relevant state institutions which amounted 63 such cases last year.
Due to lack of information, ACC had discontinued 148 cases in 2016 while 137 had been abandoned the year before.
