The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Coast Guard have launched a resuce operation after a boat with two people on board capsized in the Kaashidhoo sea.
MNDF said the incident was reported 09:20 AM on Tuesday and the Male Area Coast Guard Squadron and the Northern Area Coast Guard Squadron had been immediately dispatched to the area.
One Maldivian man and foreigner were on-board when the boat capsized, and both have been safely rescued by a boat which had been passing nearby. The 35 foot boat had capsized while traveling to Himmafushi after departing Lh. Kurendhoo.
