The 32nd national public speaking competition has started, with 299 students from schools, colleges and universities.
Organised by the Dhivehi Language Academy, the competition will be divided into three categories, one for kids under thirteen years of age, one for students between thirteen and sixteen years old and one for students between the ages of 21 and 16.
The competition is designed to promote the local language and produce skilled future public speakers.
