Certain districts of Male city experienced a power outage after two main engines experienced a sudden shut-off on Saturday.
Deputy Director of State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) said that the power outage was caused after two of the main engines unexpectedly shut down.
He said that some of these districts have now recovered electricity; however they are still working on restoring power to all other districts as soon as possible.
Earlier this month, Male experienced a city-wide power outage which led to a disruption in water supply, mobile and internet services.
