The H1N1 virus that is currently spreading around Maldives has claimed the life of an elderly man.
According to the state-run Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), the man who passed away was a 79-year-old Maldivian national.
He passed away last Thursday, according to IGMH.
The statistics publicised by the Health Protection Agency (HPA) claim that 169 people have tested positive for the H1N1 virus, more commonly knows as the swine flu, in Maldives. The virus have so far claimed the lives of three more individuals, including two locals and one expatriate, while 32 patients are admitted and being treated for the virus.
However, recently, the authorities appear to have finally stemmed the spread of the fly as patient numbers are steadily declining and various flu clinics have gone down.
