A new airplane has been brought in by the Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA) to provide seaplane services.
TMA said that the new aircraft, a de Havilland DHC-6 was brought in from Calgary City, Canada on Sunday night.
TMA said the push to expand its fleet was down to the increase in the amount of resorts in the Maldives and shared plans to bring in more aircrafts to cater to the growing demand.
TMA had registered a total of 120,000 trips in 2016, carrying over a million passengers. TMA is the largest operator of seaplanes in the world.
