Local company unveils 'Dhigali' resort in Raa Atoll

Dhigali Maldives, a luxury resort completely owned and operated by local company Coral Edge Pvt. Ltd, has welcomed its first guests earlier this month.

Dhigali Maldives is a five-star resort located in Raa Atoll – which is 45 minutes away from the Velana International Airport by seaplane.

The new resort hosts 20 beach bungalows, 33 deluxe beach bungalows on the south, and 63 beach villas on the north and south-western beaches of the 18.5-hectare island.

Further, the island also boasts 24 water-villas over its clear lagoons, with a view of Dhigali’s pristine house reef, and 16 larger lagoon villas with pools towards the south-eastern side of the island.

The new resort also offers access to Hanifaru Bay, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve where divers and snorkelers can discover the largest seasonal grouping of manta rays and a wide array of tropical marine life.

Other amenities and activities provided by the resort include a lush spa with 12 treatment rooms, which makes it amongst the largest spas in Maldives, PADI dive courses, various other water-sports, and an expansive Children’s Club which includes outdoor and indoor activities for children aged 3 – 12.

Dhigali also offers an exciting cuisine experience with five different restaurants and two bars. According to the resort’s management, it gave particular focus on Asian dishes by establishing a specialist Asian restaurant on the island called “Battuta”.

The new resort in Raa Atoll is the eighth resort established by Universal Enterprises in Maldives, and the second resort in Raa Atoll.
