Maldives Financial Expo 2017, organised by central bank Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has begun on Thursday. The theme of the expo for this year is “housing and financing” and will feature panel discussions on housing options in Malé and Hulhumalé City, assisted payment methods and financing schemes.
The event at Dharubaaruge is to be held until Saturday. The expo features 30 stalls from which the Housing Development Corportation (HDC) stall will be providing the most information.
The expo was inaugurated by housing minister Mohamed Muizzu.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, minister said that the government gives importance to ensuring all citizens are home-owners, noting the completion of Hulhumale second phase reclamation.
In addition to various construction companies, participants of the expo include all the banks of Maldives, insurance companies, HDC, Maldives Finance Leasing Company (MFLC), Capital Market Development Authority (CMDA), Maldives Stock Exchange, Maldives Pension Administration Office, Ooredoo Maldives, Dhiraagu, Economic Ministry and Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA).
