Maldives recorded a 39.9 percent decrease in the total revenue of June, compared to the corresponding period of last year, statistics published by Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) have shown.
Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA)’s statistics showed that the state earned a total of MVR906.3 million this June. The state had recorded revenue of MVR1.5 billion in June last year, which is a decrease of nearly 40 percent.
According to MIRA’s statistics, the state collected MVR26 milion as Business Profit Tax, MVR37 million as Green Tax, MVR11 million as Remittance Tax, MVR47 million as Land Acquisition Cost and MVR193 million as Tourism Land Rent.
The statistics also showed that the biggest contributors to total revenue in June was Good and Services Tax (GST), with a total of MVR238 million.
MIRA also revealed that authority had collected 35.4 million in USD during the month of May, adding that the state collected 57 million in USD in June 2016.
The highest total revenue, MVR 1.3 billion, was collected in March this year thus far.
