An injured man was taken to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for treatment around 11:25pm on Friday.
According to the police, the man had suffered injuries after he fell onto a glass table in his home. Police had also denied the rumours that the injuries were a result of gang violence.
IGMH information officer had verified that the injured received treatment after being taken to the state hospital. Information officer further added that the details of the injury remain sketchy.
Fear has spread across the capital city as gang violence spate continues. After a period of relative calm, Maldives has seen two deaths, with total of nine stabbings and three assaults in gang violence over the past month. Police have increased patrols around the city in the wake of recent spikes in gang violence and organised crime.
