The body of the 11-year-old boy, from Noonu atoll Maalhendhoo, who allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself was buried on Friday after obtaining samples necessary to carry out tests.
Avas understands that the boy was buried after police handed over the body to the family on Friday.
The boy’s mother is said to be the only one to have seen the body hanging. The boy was pronounced dead after being taken to the Maalhendhoo health centre.
Police decided to bring the body to Male on Wednesday in order to conduct further tests at state Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
