Firefighters were dispatched to Kanifinolhu resort after a fire broke out in the resort property operated in Kaafu Atoll just past sunset on Saturday.
Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) spokesperson captain Ibrahim Azim said the fire had broken in two rooms at the resort.
However, it remains unclear whether the rooms had been occupied at the time of the fire or if anyone was injured in the incident that was reported around 6.25pm.
