Senior ministry official suspended in connection to quota allocation issues

A senior official of the Home Ministry department in charge of issuing quotas to foreign workers has been suspended.

According to a ministry official, significant issues have been identified in allocating quotas for foreigners. The official said the ministry is investigating cases where companies that have brought foreigners and abandoned them on the streets. A senior official of the relevant department has been suspended in connection to the investigation, he confirmed.

The investigation has thus far not identified any wrongdoing by the suspended official. However, the employee will remain on suspension until the investigation is completed, the official said.
