Housing Ministry has announced the sale of 19 land plots including Maafannuaa-ge situated in front of Supreme Court building - to the highest bidder.
According to the Housing Ministry the land plots for sale include the now government owned three plots of Maafannu Dhandaheluge - lands from Maafannuaa-ge - along with six plots from the now desolated junkyard at Boduthakurufaanu Magu, south side of Male as well as 10 plots from STO Ready Mix manufacturing block; block 378 situated west of Villa College QI campus.
Earlier Housing Ministry had filed a case at Civil Court to grant ownership of 2,678 sq.ft area from Maafannuaa-ge while a total of 12,000 sq.ft area from the land had been taken under government ownership after settling the land's value.
Interested parties and entities to purchase these land plots are required to submit proposals to the ministry from August 20 to August 24 - proposals are accepted between 08:30hrs and 13:30hrs.
While Housing Ministry had announced the lands on sale, the government body had not specified the rates and plot sizes - however the details will be disclosed from the Ministry counter from Wednesday.
The land plots are open for bidding as well.
