A technical malfunctioning of a generator at State Electric Company (STELCO) has resulted in power outages from Henveiru district, around afternoon on Saturday.
According to an official from STELCO who spoke with Avas Online mentioned that one of the generators used to produce electricity malfunctioned and shut down completely resulting in power cuts in several locations of the capital.
The power outage was experienced approximately at 13:00hrs on Saturday.
The STELCO representative also stressed their engineers are currently attending to the issue and electricity would resume shortly for the power cut off areas.
Similar power outage was experienced throughout Male' around evening on Friday as well. Electricity resumed three hours later.
Saturday's power outage had not lasted any longer than 30 minutes before the issue was resolved in severarl locations.
