Economic Ministry has concluded the official date of December 18, 2017 to host the Maldives Investment Forum (MIF) 2017 in Dubai. The event was officially launched by Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed.
Speaking at the National Art Gallery where the forum was officially launched, Minister Saeed pointed out that the forum will be a gateway for foreign investors to seek opportunities in Maldives. Minister Saeed stated the fourth investment forum will generate additional investments to boost the local tourism industry, adding such forums establish strong trade connections and networking with the local economy.
Initially the forum was scheduled to take place in Qatar, however since the diplomatic ties between the country and Maldives came to an end earlier this year the forum shifted to Dubai.
This year's forum will be distributed to three components, which includes discussion panels attended by ministers of foreign countries and Maldives and a gala to introduce international corporations to Maldivian economy.
Participation in MIF 2017 has been opened for interested parties.
MIF debuted at Singapore while the two successive forums took place in Beijing, China and New Delhi, India.
