Bangladesh police overrules model Raudha Athif's demise as murder

Bangladeshi police has overruled the deceased Maldivian model Raudha Athif's death as murder.

Athif who reached iconic recognition on internet as the "Maldivian girl with aqua blue eyes" was a medical student at Rajshahi Islami Bank Medical College.

She was found dead at the dormitory of her college in March 29, 2017.

According to the concluding report presented by Bangladeshi police's Crime Investigation Department (CID), Athif who has been widely believed to be murdered had actually committed suicide by hanging herself and they found no involvement of the suspected Bangladeshi girl to the case.

Bangladesh police had further stated that Athif committed suicide following the abrupt fallout and apparent breakup from her lover.

Post initial autopsy Bangladesh policed had ruled her death as suicide, however due to the her father Dr. Mohamed Athif's iteration a second autopsy was performed to deduce cause of death. Dr. Athif had refused to acknowledge the final report presented by Bangladesh CID at Rajshahi Metropolitan Magistrate Court.

The death of Raudha Athif picked up heat due to the high profile nature of the case as well as her popularity in the local community. While her family, close friends and several followers have been constantly skeptical about her demise, Bangladeshi police had been ardent with their initial ruling which they had seemingly not revisited accordingly.
