Maldives telecom giant Dhiraagu is set to sell the recently released iPhone 8 and its larger Plus sibling on Friday.
An official from the company who spoke to Avas said that while pre-ordering for the newest Apple flagship models have become due on Wednesday night the handsets will be distributed starting from Friday, October 20.
Dhiraagu had featured online purchase of the Apple devices through their website under two different plans which had a 12 month installment plan and a full-payment up front plan.
Customers have to pay an amount of MVR 2,999 for the first month as down-payment and they are subjected to free data plan of 5GB per month for the first 6 months under installment pay. A 64GB iPhone 8 goes for MVR 999 per month following down-payment while a 256GB goes for MVR 1,279.
The 64GB plus model carries a monthly payment of MVR 1,179 per month following initial down-payment and the 256GB variation of the plus model is worth MVR 1,449 per month.
The latest models carry a 12 Megapixel shooter with wide angle and telephoto lenses on the plus variations with digital zoom up to 10x in photos and 6x in videos.
Both models have been enabled for wireless charging while the innards of both iPhone 8 and 8 Plus have been upgraded to perform better than their 7 counterparts.
Customers will get their iPhone 8 and 8 Plus in Space Gray, Silver and Gold with an elegant glass casing on the body with minimal bezels surrounding the body.
While the Cupertino company had released their iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, the worlds' eyes are locked on their 10 year anniversary special, the Apple iPhone X (10) which has an all-screen front omitting the traditional frontal home button which has been pushed to the rear.
Apple is set to commence the pre-order of their X variation on October 31 with the model going on market shelves by November 3.
