NIC President sacked post stern warning on police

National Integrity Commission president has been given the axe post his stint involving a stern warning directed at Maldives Police Service.

Yoosuf Maaniu, who is the president and a member of NIC has been removed from his designation according to President's Office.

Although the abrupt nature of his dismissal from NIC has begged to question over the reason for his termination, comments from both Maaniu and authorities were unavailable as of now.

Earlier, Maaniu had placed strong allegations on Maldives Police Service stating that the authority had obstructed several investigations conducted by NIC and their full cooperation was absent in cases as well. He warned Police of using authority of NIC in order to probe the cases.

Maaniu was elected as NIC's president following the sudden termination of his predecessor Faruhaad Mohamed, who also was sacked abruptly.
