BML seek directors to represent general shareholders

Bank Of Maldives is seeking directors for 3 vacant spots to represent the company's general shareholders. BML has opened the opportunity to apply for the designation on Monday.

BML has stated that the opportunity will run from January 15 til 22 and the necessary requirements in an eligible candidate has been detailed in their announcement.

Individuals applying for director designation of BML should be between the age of 30 and 70 while fulfilling the criteria under the company's "Fit and Proper Requirement." Additionally the eligible candidates should possess apt knowledge or education in the field of banking and financing.

The national bank's board witnessed changes two years back with then chairperson Fareeha Mohamed along with board members Mohamed Umar and Muruthala Mohamed Didi retiring from their responsibilities.

The current board holds its incumbent Chairperson Saeedha Umar, while Andrew Healy fills the Chief Executive Officer's roles. BML's top hierarchy also includes the deputy CEOs Mohamed Shareef, Mohamed Luaiz, Abdul Haaris, Aishath Arsha, Rabeeh Mohamed, Mohamed Abdul Sattar, Ibrahim Mohamed and Ibthisama Ahmed Saeed.

The national bank has maintained a profitable business with considerable hikes in the company's dividends for the past four years.
