A man injured in an accident in the southernmost Atoll Addu city on Sunday has succumbed to his injuries.
The victim identified Abdulla Manikufaanu was riding on his bicycle when he was hit by a speeding car on the accident prone Addu link road on Sunday evening.
Eyewitnesses said Manikufaanu was flung 20 feet after he was hit by the car. The victim died while being treated at Hithadhoo hospital.
Accidents on Addu’s link road occur quite frequently resulting in multiple fatalities each year.
