Government owned State Trading Organization (STO) has increased the diesel prices sold from various gas stations across the capital as well as atolls.
According to STO the rising value in crude oil across global market has added to the increase of diesel price everywhere much like in Maldives. With the new price change, diesel will be sold from stations with an addition of 20 Laari to its price making the unit price MVR 10.41.
The most recent change to diesel prices were brought in March 2018, when they had decided to skim 20 Laari from then unit price.
