A minor from Gaaf Alif atoll Dhaandhoo has been injured due to a violent altercation on Sunday evening.
Maldives Police confirm a minor below the constitutionally legal age of 18 was injured using a sharp implement. The incident was reported to the island's police unit around 19:50hrs on Sunday evening.
Authorities had not disclosed further information as the matter was under investigation.
As of latest reports the victim was transferred to the island's health center for medical attention.
While authorities have been able to confirm an incident of assault they have not divulged the reason behind the altercation.
So far police had not confirmed of any arrests made pertaining to the case.
