Maldives government at long last, installed public litter bins in various locations throughout the capital Male.
To mark the environment day, environment ministry hopes the pilot program would help curb littering in the capital.
The specially designed bins have been installed in a way that it does not hinder pedestrians or vehicle parking. The ministry said local waste management company WAMCO would empty the bins under its corporate social responsibility program.
