President of Maldives Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom on Sunday morning departed on a trip to visit three of Male' atoll islands; namely Thulusdhoo, Maafushi and Guraidhoo where he is expected to speak with the islanders.
President Yameen will be opening the newly developed harbor at Thulusdhoo and participate in the closing ceremony of the project to protect Maafushi beach.
The Maldives head of state will also officially open the new harbor of Guraidhoo as well as the recently established water sanitation plant in the island.
Maldives incumbent president Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom is visiting islands of the capital city atoll at a time when the presidential election is looming closer to polling date and ruling party has initiated stiff campaign to re-elect him for a second term.
