Accident at Addu City on early hours of Wednesday morning has left two youths in serious condition.
Maldives Police confirms they received the report of the accident around 01:18hrs on Wednesday morning. Authorities state the victims aged 25 and 31 collided on each other's motorbike causing the accident.
An Addu City Regional Hospital confirmed both accident victims are currently getting treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) while the 25 year old individual's condition is particularly severe.
Both victims had received injuries to their head and authorities are currently trying to transport them to Maldives capital; Male' City for further medical treatment.
High speed collisions on Addu City link-road has been increasing over the past years in an alarming rate. At least six have died from similar high speed collisions and road accidents so far in 2018 throughout the country.
