An accident in southernmost Addu City left two people injured on Monday.
The accident occurred in Maradhoo island around 4:40 pm when a pick-up truck arriving from Hithadhoo made a sudden stop on the link road, causing the motorcycle behind it to crash into the vehicle.
The 40-year old driver of the pick-up truck was unhurt in the accident, although the 35-year old female driver of the motorcycle and her 34-year old passenger both sustained some injuries to their heads and had gashed near their eyes, informed the police. Both vehicles are damages in the incident, said the police.
The injured were taken to Hithadhoo Regional Hospital for treatment. Both drivers possessed driver's licenses, revealed the police.
