Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) has assisted the transfer of an ailing Sri Lankan aboard a fishing vessel local to Lanka; operating outside the economic zone of Maldives' waters.
Sri Lanka Coastguard had notified the Maritime Rescue Coordination Center (MRCC) of local Coastguard regarding the incident on June 25.
Haa Dhaal atoll Makunudhoo dispatched a sea ambulance to retrieve the patient after government's permission. The local sea ambulance traveled to receive the patient after the Sri Lankan fishing boat had drawn to 15-mile distance between Makunudhoo.
