Maldives signs new prosecution agreement with Turkey

Maldives Prosecutor General's Office has signed on an agreement with Turkey's General Prosecution of The Supreme Court of Appeal.

The signing was held at the General Prosecution of the Supreme Court of Appeal at Ankara, Turkey where prosecutor general of Maldives Aishath Bisham signed on behalf of Maldives government. Her Turkish counterpart Mehmet Akarca signed on behalf of Turkey state.

The agreement will strengthen Turkey's support to Maldives government in countering criminal offenses recognized at an international level, human trafficking, drug peddling, economic crimes as well as cyber crimes.

In addition to this the two nations will exchange information as well as facilitate training programs for employees under prosecution services.

Maldives prosecutor general Aishath Bisham had discussed regarding the countries' respective penal code acts and also the prosecution service mandates.
