MDP presidential candidate lambastes Pres Yameen's 'arrogance'

Prime opposition Maldivian Democratic Party's (MDP) presidential candidate Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has criticized incumbent president Abdulla Yameen for the latter's apparent arrogance.

The multi-party coalition's presidential candidate bemoaned incumbent president's arrogance, stating it will result in the downfall of Maldivian people.

The opposition presidential candidate has pilloried his ruling party counterpart following the latter's statement during his recent visit to Haa Alif Kelaa.

In his speech, Maldives president Abdulla Yameen was confident he will not get any sanctions from European Union. The international body cannot induce any personal or professional damage.

In response to president Yameen's challenging tone towards EU, Solih had tweeted on Thursday stating the ramifications of his arrogance to comply with the international body's sanctions will not be borne by president Yameen himself but the people of Maldives.

Meanwhile EU has declared a policy towards sanctioning Maldives president Abdulla Yameen. The international entity warned on sanctioning local politicians and businessmen if the political crisis of Maldives is not resolved.
