The general committee of People's Majilis - Maldives parliament - moved to shorten the period of parliament's second term.
According to parliament regulations second term will run from June 1 until end of August. With third term starting on October 1 until November's end.
However, on Tuesday the committee voted to shorten the second term period to August 16. Respectively third term will start earlier on August 27.
The amendment to parliament regulation will be asked for vote on Wednesday's parliament sitting.
