President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom on Tuesday morning began his visit to several islands of both Gaaf Alif and Gaaf Dhaal atolls.
The Maldives president will be visiting the islands of both atolls during the next three days.
President Yameen is expected to attend the closing ceremonies of shoreline protection projects at Gaaf Dhaal atolls Madaveli, Fares-Maathoda and Gahdhoo. In addition to this he will officially open the harbors in these islands.
Maldives head of state is expected to open the sewerage system at Gahdhoo and also officially open the completed housing units at the island.
In his three day visit to the atolls, president Yameen is expected to visit Gaaf Alif Kon'dey and open the island's newly developed harbor. He will be officially opening the sewerage system network and clean water distillery at Kolamaafushi of the same atoll.
President Yameen will be visiting Gaaf Alif Vilingili to open the completed housing units as well as attend the closing ceremony of the completion of the island's roads.
He is also expected to open the Fishermen Marina at Gaaf Alif Kooddoo during his visit to the atoll.
