Maldives president Abdulla Yameen has officially inaugurated the water distillery system at Thaa atoll Thimarafushi on Monday.
The island nation's head of state is currently visiting islands of Thaa atoll to celebrate the conclusion of several project initiatives that started earlier under current administration's term.
President Yameen's trip to Thaa atoll will last for a three day period much like his recent visit to Gaaf Alif and Gaaf Dhaal atolls.
The distillery system developed at Thimarafushi was achieved for a project budget of MVR28 million.
President Abdulla Yameen is expected to visit Veymandoo of the same atoll next.
