Pres Yameen vows increasing allowances for special needs children

President of Maldives Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has vowed to increase the allowances for children with special needs, if re-elected for another five year term.

Maldives president has promised to increase the allowances by MVR5,000 for special needs children.

While addressing the public of Kulhudhuffushi during Wednesday evening rally, president Yameen claimed his administration first identified special needs children as a vital part of the society.

President Yameen also claimed that career opportunities were introduced specifically for special needs individuals under his administration.

Furthermore the island nation's head of state claimed special needs individuals will receive financial allowances from the government until they are recruited for employment.

Additionally special loan schemes will be arranged through local financial institutions for the benefit of said individuals, according to president Yameen.

The current administration introduced allowances of MVR2,000 per month for special needs children.
