Maldives president Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has decided to travel to southern most atoll; Addu City as part of campaign efforts ahead of crunch presidential elections.
President Office spokesperson Ibrahim Muaz Ali on Thursday confirmed the news to Avas Online.
The island nation's head of state is expected to travel to Addu City sometime on Friday morning, while the city is gearing up to welcome the ruling party presidential candidate.
Meanwhile ruling party running-mate Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed is traveling across the islands of Dhaal atoll as part of his campaign efforts.
