Criminal Court on Thursday has scheduled two hearings of lawmaker Ahmed Mahloof, who after spending months in house arrest was released on Tuesday.
The hearings tabled for Thursday are state pressed charges of attempt of act of terrorism and divulging falsified information to a legal authority, against the lawmaker.
Both hearings have been scheduled for 13:30hrs on Thursday afternoon.
State is prosecuting the South-Galolhu MP for act of terrorism over an incident where Mahloof had led a group of local mob in front of Maafushi jail, instigating unrest. Court had ordered house arrest in April on the lawmaker following the altercation.
The other charge relates to a dated back tweet of the lawmaker who accused Maldives Correctional Services of 'killing' prisoners through lack of proper medical care and treatment. The MP called out on the authority stating Correctional Services must bear all responsibilities of prisoners dying in cells.
