Maldives pres urges to instill authentic Islamic knowledge in children

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has called upon all Islamic scholars, teachers, educational institutes to instill authentic Islamic knowledge in the hearts of children, in order to protect them from making wrong choices in life, and to guide them in the right path.

In his address on the anniversary of the Day Maldives Embraced Islam, the president noted that the foundation of the unity among the Maldivian people was due to firm Islamic faith.

He also pointed out that the main shield against all foreign influences was Maldives' strong adherence to the Islamic religion, president's office revealed in a statement.

"... President Solih has highlighted that Islam was based on peace, kindness, forgiveness and unity, and encouraged everyone to promote the true message of Islam," the statement read.
