A group out fishing off the coast of Thulhaadhoo island of Baa atoll has reported coming across packages containing drugs while out in the water.
Police confirmed receiving reports of the incident at noon on Tuesday.
The group, who were out fishing on a dinghy, picked up four packages of what is assumed to be weed from the water. The items have now been taken into police custody.
The police are conducting a further sweep of the area.
