President's Office seek new member for Elections Commission

The President's Office has opened opportunity for interested individuals to apply for Elections Commission membership.

The announcement seeking new membership was made current commission member, Ismail Habeeb's membership will expire on 13th March.

The President's Office revealed that interested applicants can submit their forms between 13th and 30th February.

Eligibility criteria includes being 25 years of age or older, being a Muslim Maldivian citizen, not being a member of a political party, not being involved in political activities, not currently filling any official political posts and not being employed at the time of application, among others.

There are five members on the Elections Commission. The current members are commissioner Ahmed Shareef, Deputy commissioner Amjad Mustafa, and members Ismail Habeeb, Ahmed Akram and Ali Nashaath.
