Tourism Minister Ali Waheed has initiated discussions with Indian government to increase accessibility for Indian tourists to visit destinations in all regions of Maldives.
The minister, who is currently on an official visit to India accompanied by some city mayors met with the Indian Tourism Minister.
Mayor of Addu City Abdulla Sadiq, capital Male' city mayor Shifa Mohamed as well as president of Kulhudhuffushi council and Fuvahmulah city mayor participated in the meeting.
Tourism Ministry stated that the collaborations between the two nations on developing tourism in Maldives was discussed.
While over 90,000 Indian tourists visited the Maldives during 2018, the neighboring nation is viewed as a hopeful market for Maldivian tourism.
