Utility company initiates water storage expansion project

Maldives Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) have announced that a water storage system able to contain 20,000tonnes of water will be established at the STO Primex cement manufacturing site in Hulhumale'.

Speaking on the expansion of services provided by MWSC, Managing Director of the utility company, Adam Azim said the two tanks being installed in Hulhumale' will provide ease in supplying fresh water to Hulhumale'.

Azim further said the project costing MVR 24 million will be implemented within an year after the land is handed over next month. He also revealed that MWSC is working to expand and increase the storage capacity of the 3000tonne RO plant in Hulhumale' Phase One. Discussions are also ongoing with the government to acquire more land, said Azim.
