Pres. appoints ambassadors to UK, US

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Thursday appointed two individuals as ambassadors to the United Kingdom and the United States.

Thilmeeza Hussain, who was appointed as the ambassador to the United States worked as Adjunct Professor of Sustainability at the Ramapo College, New Jersey, and as Co-Chair of Socially and Economically Just Adaptation and Mitigation Team at the United States Climate Action Network before her appointment. She previously served as the Deputy Permanent Representative at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Maldives to the United Nations, and as non-resident Deputy Ambassador to the USA & Canada.

The ambassador to the United Kingdom, Dr. Farhanaz Faisal previously served as non-resident ambassador to Denmark, Finland, France, Norway, Spain, and Sweden. She holds a PhD in Politics from the University of Hull in UK.
