MNDF awards badges in underwater ceremony

Maldives National Defense Force has awarded badges to the officers who completed the 7th Coast Guard Basic Diving Course in an underwater ceremony.

The badges were awarded by Chief of Defense Force Major General Abdulla Shamaal. Students from neighboring India, Sri Lanka and Nepal participated in the program.

A graduation ceremony attended by Defense Minister Mariya Ahmed Didi was held at training island Girifushi following the unique badge-awarding ceremony,

Lance Corporal Ishaq Rashed from MNDF was selected as the best all-round student while the award of fittest diver went to Lance Corporal Mifthah Ibrahim of MDU-2. The award of best foreign cadet went to Sr Lanka's Lance Corporal Chathuranga Las. First in Merit was awarded to Lance Corporal Hassan Ali of MNDF.

21 students participated in the course with 19 graduating from the program.
