Maldives Police Service have launched an investigation into reports of two brothers molesting their younger sibling.
The police confirmed on Saturday that they are looking into the case of a 9-year old child being molested by her older siblings. The case was reported to the police on the night of 10th May earlier this month from an island. The police did not reveal the atoll or the island where the incident took place, and did not divulge the identities of those involved in the case. The alleged perpetrators themselves are minors aged 13 and 16, said the police.
The police are working in liaison with the Gender Ministry due to the nature of the case.
