Maldives Police Service is probing reports that a police officer on their force molested two young boys.
It has been reported that the officer carried out the acts over two separate incidents. The first accusation was reported on October 18 last year, however, the case did not move forward due to lack of evidence.
The second incident was reported during March this year, and the police confirmed that they are investigating the case. The officer in question is currently in neighboring Sri Lanka on a ‘no-pay’ leave.
While allegations against a police officer molesting two children are being investigated, a 19 year old was recently arrested for molesting two boys aged 6 and 8.
