President appoints ambassadors to China, Saudi Arabia

Two appointments have been made by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih as Maldivian ambassadors to Saudi Arabia and China.

Aishath Azeema was appointed as the ambassador to China while Mohamed Khaleel became the ambassador to China.

Both ambassadors received their letters of appointment from President Solih at a special ceremony held at the President's Office on Sunday.

Aishath Azeema previously served as deputy ambassador of the Maldives to the United Kingdom in London, in addition to filling senior posts at the Foreign Ministry including the posts of Additional Secretary and Joint Secretary. She has been serving the government since 1988 and completed numerous training programs abroad.

Mohamed Khaleel previously served as the Maldivian High Commissioner and Acting High commissioner to Singapore. He has been serving the government since 1983.
