Speaker of the parliament Mohamed Nasheed on Monday met with Chief Justice Dr. Ahmed Abdulla Didi of the Supreme Court.
While the meeting took place the Parliament office, no details regarding the discussions that ensued have been revealed.
The meeting took place at a time when a lot of tension is being observed between the top court and the Judicial Service Commision (JSC), the Maldives judicial watchdog of which Nasheed is a member.
JSC is currently investigating top court judge Abdulla Didi. An open investigative meeting into the disciplinary cases raised against the judge took place earlier this week. In addition to Didi's case, the commission is also probing three judges, and has announced that the commission will be ensuring that all judges meet the required criteria to perform their jobs.
